Dear readers please glance at your address label to see if you need to renew your dues and use the enclosed membership form to send in your check. There are about 27 members that need to renew! At this time we have around $2,000 in our account and we are spending at least $1,700 on our upcoming Koshkin recital so your contribution would be timely. Please note that your contributions are tax deductible. Thank you!

Our Last Meeting/Election (September 19th)

Our Last Meeting/Election was enjoyed by just 15 members. A great time was had by all, who unanimously voted in the new board members, heard some fine music by Sarah Stallings, Dennis Aberle and yours truly and then all shared in a sumptuous feast. Thanks go out to Paul Strahan who hosted this event and graciously accepted our nomination to be our Communications Director. Paul will be helping TGS spread our guitaristic notices in all forms of media.

Thanks go out to LaMotte Akin (Publicity Director) and Linda Hunnicutt (Treasurer) who have both finished two full years helping us through thick and thin. We could not have done it without your help. Thank you both.

I would also like to thank David Holmes for courageously offering to start a two-year term as our new treasurer. David is also doing our address labels and would like to get everyone’s e-mail address so he can send out special guitar notices. I’d also like to welcome our three new board members: Rick Tibbs from Cary, Kathleen Carballa from Raleigh and Paul Strahan from Durham. How about that for Triangle representation! 2. Russia’s Finest Guitarist

Presenting Nikita Koshkin on Saturday Oct 23rd at 8:00 pm at Community Church of Chapel Hill. 106 Purefoy Rd., Chapel Hill, NC.

3. TGS after concert party/reception honoring Nikita Koshkin at Randy Ballard’s home.

Directions will be given at the Oct. 23rd concert.

We are firming up our location for an early December Danny Gotham & Scott Ainslie concert and would anyone like to host a November 6th Salon Concert at their house (please call me).
