Welcome to a new year!  Following the enthusiastic response of the folks who came out to Ed and Marcie Obregon’s lovely home for a great salon concert in June, we are going to try weekend evening Salon Style Concerts/Meetings. By the way Research Triangle Institute is now charging us $60 for each occupancy of Dreyfus Auditorium.   This is another impetus to be creative with meeting locations this year.

We’ll nudge our performers to introduce each piece (or set) with some personal reflections about the music, and we’ll have food, too.

Please come to our next general meeting to discuss this and more!

Annual Election Meeting
Covered Dish Supper
Sunday, Sept 19 – 5:15 pm
Clubhouse at Edinburough at the Park (see map)

The General/Election Meeting features performers Dennis Aberle, Sarah Stallings, and Randy Reed. Call Frank Stallings  (919-489-5973) to find out the covered dish item to bring so we don’t duplicate items.

Election, TGS Board Nominations

The TGS Board filled two vacancies this summer:

Rick Tibbs, Acting Secretary (when Scott Merkle switched to Advertising Director, a new position)

Kathleen Carballa, Acting Funding Director

Two Board members who have finished their two year terms have indicated that they would like to give us service for one more year:

LaMotte Akin, Publicity Director

Linda Hunnicutt, Treasurer

Any TGS member in good standing (paid up dues) can challenge any of these positions or talk us into creating a new position for him/her.  So come vote and be heard at the Annual Election!!
