The President, Randy Reed, has been the guitar instructor at Duke University for the last five years and at Elon University for the last ten years. Randy Reed received his music degrees from Florida State and Southern Methodist universities. Before moving to Durham in 1988, Mr. Reed was an Assistant Professor of Music at the University of Texas - El Paso and Director of Guitar Studies at SUNY - Potsdam, New York. Randy Reed has performed throughout the United States, with additional recitals in Canada and Mexico. Locally, in addition to annual faculty recitals where he teaches, Mr. Reed was the featured guitarist in the North Carolina Theatre's latest production of La Mancha, Peace College's production of Much Ado About Nothing, and the first and third annual Guitar Summit at the Carrboro ArtsCenter. As president of the Triangle Guitar Society, which he co-founded in 1988, Randy Reed has helped lead the society towards becoming an important arts organization in the Triangle.
