Getting To Whitehall Terrace, 105 West Knox Street (near Hwy. 85, next to Duke Park) in Durham
FROM DURHAM
1. Get to Markham Avenue (one street bordering Duke’s East Campus).
2. Travel EAST (toward Downtown) on Markham Avenue until it ends at North Mangum Street.
3. Turn LEFT onto North Mangum Street and travel to the stop sign. [Whitehall Terrace is on your left at the stop sign.]
4. Turn LEFT onto W. Knox Street; travel around the curve until you see the white sign for Duke Park. The entrance to Whitehall Terrace will be immediately after the sign, on your left.
FROM CHAPEL HILL
1. Take 15-501 to I-85.
2. Off I-85, take exit 177A to DURHAM/DOWNTOWN.
3. Almost immediately after you pull off the exit ramp, turn RIGHT onto EAST KNOX STREET (beside white sign for Duke Park).
4. Follow the street's curves for about a block-and-a-half. You'll see another white sign for Duke Park on your right. The entrance to Whitehall Terrace will be immediately after the sign, on your left.
FROM RALEIGH
1. Take I-40 to Durham Freeway NC-147.
2. Take EXIT 12B for MANGUM ST/ROXBORO ST./DOWNTOWN.
3. Get into RIGHT-hand lane on the exit. [Be careful of other traffic trying to merge left at the same time.]
4. Turn RIGHT onto Roxboro Street, and get into one of the middle lanes.
5. Go STRAIGHT through 7 lights and keep going straight after that.
6. When Roxboro Road divides, be in the RIGHT-hand lane and go STRAIGHT.
7. In the next block on your right there will be a sign that says "Duke Park Next Left." Take that LEFT onto East Knox Street.
8. Follow the street's curves for about a block-and-a-half. You'll see another white sign for Duke Park on your right. The entrance to Whitehall Terrace will be immediately after the sign, on your left.
